2011 Build Begins Soon

The Neighbors South Coalition is in full swing ready to build its thirteen home. Progress is well underway on the build site. As you can see, the lot is a nice level lot which will facilitate our successful build.
The foundation and basement walls are in place.
We begin work on Friday, June 10. We work every weekend, Friday and Saturday, except the July 4th weekend. We plan to have the house completed by the end of August. Come out, share your talents. We are blessed to work together.

Dedication of the 12th Home Built by Neighbors South

A nice group of volunteers and supporters gathered on Sunday, October 3, to welcome Andreya Mayom, Alek Kur and their children into their new home.

Andreya addressed the gathered group expressing his sincere thanks for the work of providing his family a home. He described the home that he grew up in the Sudan. It was made of grass and easily destroyed. “This home will mean that my family will be safe and secure.”

Amazing Effort

The 12th Neighbors South Build began under the threat of rain. However, never to be deterred, the volunteers not only set all the walls but set all of the rafters, too. What a great start to a great build.

Check it out! The first weekend of the build is a tremendous success. The walls are all in place. The trusses are set and the sheating is on. It’s beginning to look like a house that will become a home!

Beautiful Day for Dedication 2008

A beautiful October day was the backdrop to a beautiful dedication of the newest home built by Neighbors South Coalition. Volunteers, friends, neighbors and Habitat staff joined together to dedicate Malyun Fathal’s new home.

Malyun plans to move into her new home near the end of the month. She and her five boys have a safe, secure home in which to grow.

Special thanks to Jim Carlson who kept the build on task.

Donations are welcome to celebrate this latest effort.
